Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents are delighted to confirm that they have chosen Teenage Cancer Trust as their Charity of the Year 2019.
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only Scottish and UK charity dedicated to meeting the complex medical, social and emotional needs of the seven young people aged 13-24 who are diagnosed with cancer every day. Their vision is a future where young people’s lives don’t stop because they have cancer.
Teenage Cancer Trust have 28 purpose-built NHS wards (usually called units) across the UK which are at the core of their work. Four are in Scotland; two in Edinburgh, at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and The Western General Hospital, and a further two in Glasgow, at the Royal Hospital for Children and The Beatson Cancer Centre. Teenage Cancer Trust also fund Clinical Nurse Specialists who specialise in young people’s cancer, Youth Support Coordinators who help support young people and their families throughout their cancer journey, and Education Executives who visit high schools the length and breadth of Scotland delivering awareness talks to S2 pupils.

We rely 100% on voluntary income to fund our vital work, which aims to reach every young person between the ages of 13 -24 with cancer, with our world class nursing care and support services. Without Teenage Cancer Trust’s specialist support young people risk facing cancer isolated and alone.
Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents are joining Teenage Cancer Trust at a very exciting time in our development in Scotland. We recently funded Clinical Nurse Specialists based in local hospitals in Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness and Aberdeen. This is a huge step forward, enabling us to reach more young people than ever before.
