The Home Staging Association UK & Ireland has published a report containing figures on a recent property staging survey that took place between January and April this year.
The key findings are:
- 85 per cent of respondents claimed that a staged home sells up to three times faster than a non-staged property.
- 94 per cent of Estate Agents and 100 per cent of developers confirmed that property staging increased the number of viewings for a property.
- All respondents confirmed that a well presented and properly staged property makes it easier for a buyer to visualise the property as their future home, and 75 per cent claimed buyers spend more time viewing a home that has been staged for the sale.
- All respondents reported properties with professional photos getting more viewings.
Jenna Spence, Operations Director at Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents said, “Well presented properties that are professionally marketed for the sale and priced accurately always gain the most attention. It is important that the buyer can visualise themselves living at the property and investing a little bit of time staging your property appropriately for the sale before marketing can work wonders in terms of generating interest. There is a lot of psychology involved in staging and attracting the interest of buyers. If you are thinking of selling and would like some free expert tips to guide you, I would highly recommend obtaining a free, no obligation appraisal from Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents. During this process we can advise you on relevant house doctoring and staging tips along with guiding you on valuation and suggested marketing price. Neilsons currently offer free professional photography so after your staging takes place, you can be rest-assured that your property will look fantastic online which will help you get those online views and ultimately the buyers through your door.”
