Property Sales Receptionist

Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents have a vacancy for a full time receptionist to join their award winning property department at our brand new Property Centre at 162 St John’s Road, Edinburgh.

Neilsons are one of the biggest Solicitor Estate Agents in Edinburgh, and no other Solicitor Estate Agent has won more awards than Neilsons over the past 5 years!

Key job responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming telephone calls as the first point of contact for both client and buyer enquiries.
  • Assist with off-street enquiries.
  • Assist with incoming email enquiries.
  • Arranging viewings, liaising with both clients and viewers and uploading the information into our system.
  • Assisting with maintaining property displays and updating them when properties sell/new properties come on the market
  • Entering general data and notes into our Estate Agency system.
  • Other ad hoc general office admin work as and when required.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Ideally you will have property department experience already, though this is not essential as long as you have reception experience.
  • First class communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Professional and friendly phone manner.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
  • Excellent IT skills together with experience in using management software.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Good local area knowledge.
  • Friendly and helpful personality.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player.
  • Good time management.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and some occasional Saturday morning work on a rotational basis (9.30am to 12pm).

Salary: A competitive salary will be offered depending on level of experience.

Trainee Solicitor

Following continued expansion, multi-award winning Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents are looking to recruit a full-time Trainee Solicitor who will join our growing team at our Head Office at 142 St John’s Road, Edinburgh, EH12 8AY.

The role is an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Solicitor to join one of Edinburgh’s top firms and full training will be provided.

Main duties and responsibilities involve:-

Conveyancing:-

  • Exposure to assisting the conveyancing team in regard to all aspects of residential conveyancing work, notably:- sales, purchases, discharges, transfers of title, re-mortgages and equity work;
  • Attending to post settlement registration and compliance obligations
  • Preparation of tax submissions;
  • Preparation of legal documents;
  • Ensuring clients receive a first class service throughout their conveyancing transaction;
  • Exposure to business development and the furtherance of existing business relationships;

Essential Skills and Attributes:-

  • Strong academic record.
  • Highly organised and process driven with good attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and dedicated.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work to critical deadlines and effectively time manage workload.
  • IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office Suite – full training will be given on our systems.

Salary:  In accordance with Law Society of Scotland trainee salary guidelines.
