Following the Scottish Government’s announcement that additional restrictions have been introduced for people living in Scotland, ESPC have sought guidance and clarification on how these local measures impact the operation of the local housing market.
The property market has not been shut down by these local lockdown measures and whilst the restricted measures centre on preventing separate households meeting indoors in social settings, there are allowances for tradespeople or those entering for a business function. This includes viewing a property for sale, although there continues to be a virtual viewing first element. As the Government have confirmed today:
“Professionals and trades who need to enter people’s homes to facilitate a home move can continue to do so, and our guidance on viewings by members of the public continues with a virtual first emphasis.”
Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents have offered all sale clients a 360 virtual tour since launch and these can be viewed on our website and all property portals. Buyers should view any properties they are interested in via this method initially. Following this, we will be vetting any viewers as appropriate and advising on the guidance accordingly.
Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents will continue to operate with extra vigilance and will of course still adhere to the hygiene, PPE and social distancing measures in the existing Scottish Government guidance on moving home and the best practice and guidance on house viewings and house moves that we have been following at all times.
