This past weekend was a whirlwind of activity, community spirit, fundraising, and glorious sunshine as Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents participated in two major local events: the Corstorphine Fair on Saturday 1st June and the Poltonhall and Bonnyrigg Gala Day on Sunday 2nd June. Our teams were out in full force, and we are thrilled to announce that we raised over £800 for Maggie’s in Edinburgh, a charity close to our hearts.
Corstorphine Fair 2024
On Saturday, the vibrant Corstorphine Fair provided the perfect setting for our fundraising efforts. The fair, known for its lively atmosphere and diverse attractions, drew in large crowds from all around the local area. Our Neilsons team set up a bustling stall, complete with a charity tombola featuring signed merchandise from Hibernian FC and Heart of Midlothian FC, vouchers for rounds of golf at Newbattle Golf Club and Broomieknowe Golf Club, vouchers for the delicious Chinese Manor House, fizz and wine from Majestic Wine, kids toys and many more.
The community spirit was evident. Families enjoyed the tombola on offer, and many stopped by to have a chat and learn more about our services. Kids appreciated Neilsons’ biodegradable balloons (if they didn’t accidentally fly away). The sunny weather certainly made the day even better for all.
Poltonhall and Bonnyrigg Gala Day: Continuing the Fun and Fundraising
The fun continued on Sunday at the Poltonhall and Bonnyrigg Gala Day. This event, known for its festive spirit and family-friendly activities, provided another excellent opportunity for our local Bonnyrigg team to raise funds for Maggie’s.
Our stall at the Gala Day was a hub of activity. For just £1, visitors could select a key out of many to try and open our safe to win £10! The sunny weather persisted, adding to the joy and excitement of the day. By the end of the event, we had raised even further for Maggie’s.
Raising Over £800 for Maggie’s Edinburgh
We are incredibly proud to announce that, through our combined efforts at both events, we raised over £800 for Maggie’s Edinburgh. This charity provides invaluable support to those affected by cancer and their families, offering practical, emotional, and social assistance. The funds raised will help Maggie’s continue their vital work, making a real difference in the lives of many.
